Motherhood sessions are rapidly becoming one of my all-time favorite types of sessions. Mothers and the value of the work they do are so often underappreciated. There isn’t much that’s glamorous about putting band-aids on skinned knees, changing those sheets again, or packing the lunches in the mornings. The mundane nature of these tasks is deceiving, however. These thousands of small acts of love accumulate to form the most beautiful bond: one that truly changes the trajectory of this world through ripples that reach out in increasing measure. So for me, to welcome a mother and her children into a space where she is seen, and where their priceless relationship is recorded, is an honor that fuels my creative soul.
