A couple weeks ago, I had my first client appreciation event to give back to my amazing 2021 mama clients. I wanted each one of my moms to feel cherished, seen, and celebrated. I’ve been thinking of doing an event like this for a long time, but only recently settled on the idea of timeless heirloom vignette portraits. Earlier this year, I scanned in a large stack of old photographs from my grandmother. The images of her as a child, and the stories that went along with them, are truly priceless. When I consider all the people who took those images of her, I wonder if they ever guessed at how the images would be appreciated for generations to come. The timelessness of the thick papers, the soft film grain, the window into her youth – all are treasures to me. The idea took hold. I wanted to give my wonderful clients artistic vignette portraits of their children. My hope is that this gift of beautiful heirloom imagery will bring joy today and generations into the future.
